In the shocking defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, a jury has reached a decision

On the third day of deliberations, a jury in the defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard apparently reached a conclusion, but the Pirates of the Caribbean star will not be present for the reading of the verdict.

The verdict will be read at 3 p.m. local time at the court in Fairfax, Virginia.

The actor filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit against Heard after she wrote an op-ed for The Washington Post in 2018 in which she defined herself as a "public figure representing domestic abuse.

Depp alleges that the report cost him lucrative acting gigs, despite the fact that he was not identified in the article. Heard countersued for $100 million, claiming Depp's counsel made false comments regarding her abuse allegations. Amber Heard and Johnny Depp began dating in 2009 and married in 2015.

The defamation trial has been ongoing since April, with jurors hearing over a hundred hours of testimony in total. They've heard from scores of witnesses, including Johnny Depp and Amber Heard in person.

Due to "already established job commitments," Johnny Depp will not be in court for the verdict. A source close to Amber Heard confirms that she will be in court for the verdict.
